Huntsville

From Houston go north on I-45 to Huntsville State Park, exit (Park Road 40). Cross under the freeway to the west side of freeway. Proceed north on the I-45 two way feeder road to the trailhead on the left.

0.0         LSHT Parking Lot #7—Huntsville

0.8        Cross a footbridge; follow Creed

 

1.8         Cross Alligator Creek (1.0)

 

3.0        Elkins Lake (1.2)

 

             Short Hike turn around and hike back.  (6.0 miles)

 

4.9        Come to a fence and hikers gate

 

6.1         Top of small pond (1.2)

 

6.4        Come to end of Huntsville Section (0.3)

 

           Long Hike turn around and hike back. (12.8 miles)
